Our People: Vijay Mishra
Mr. Vijay Mishra is a highly accomplished aviation professional with over three decades of experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM), Flight Procedure Design, Airspace Planning, and Performance-Based Navigation (PBN).
Before joining BearCat AEL, Mr. Mishra retired in January 2025 as General Manager (Air Traffic Management: Flight Procedure Design) at the Airports Authority of India (AAI), where he led the design and implementation of instrument flight procedures, including conventional and PBN-based approaches for terminal and approach phases. His leadership extended to aeronautical studies, airspace management, PANS-OPS training, and Aerodrome safeguarding standards across Indian airports.
Mr. Mishra served as the Regional Officer for PBN at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Asia-Pacific Office in Beijing, China from April 2021 to May 2024. In this role, he supported PBN implementation across the APAC region, including terminal, enroute, and approach procedures, with a focus on advanced systems such as GBAS and SBAS. He was also part of PBN Go Teams to APAC States during his tenure to support States in their PBN implementation.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mishra served as an Air Traffic Control Executive for over 12 years with procedural and radar ratings, including as a Radar OJT Instructor at Kolkata ACC and Terminal. His broad operational and instructional expertise solidified his reputation as a cornerstone in India’s ATM and airspace modernization efforts.
